FS20 fire compound is used to provide a fire seal around penetrations services in walls and floors rated fire. Tested in accordance with BS 476, fire safety fire compound provides about . up to 6 hours fire protection. Some of the benefits of compound FS20 fire :

Time protection against fire varies with the application of mortar . If the thickness of mortar fire FS20 is 75mm it offers fire rating of 1-2 hours and if the thickness is 100 mm then fire rating should be around 3-6 hours.

FS20 firewall consists of a plaster -based mortar specially formulated , which is mixed with water to be applied with a trowel or cast around the door openings . Plastic piping must be protected either with Firestop Collars or fire Necklaces intumescent pipe wraps . In floors , the lost formwork panel ( 50 mm ) is cut and mounted friction between services and the edges of the floor slab. FS20 fire compound is then troweled on forms at a depth of 25 mm thick. Normally , most of the newly constructed buildings are made with fire walls to protect buildings against fire . It helps to stop the spread of fire to other areas of construction. It is not guaranteed to stop but but of course, the damage will be less.
